Military Junta Continues Drone and Airstrikes on Locations of War-Displaced Civilians in Kyaukphyu Township

In Zin Chaung Sub-Township, Kyaukphyu Township, Arakan, at the High School in Mu Ywin (Ma Yin) Village (မူရွင်းကျေးရွာ), where innocent civilian displaced people from nearby villages are taking shelter, the fascist terrorist military council troops carried out an attack using two drones at approximately 12:55 PM and 12:58 PM on January 24, 2026.

Due to the said attack, two innocent civilian displaced persons were killed inside the Mu Ywin School compound, and five others (including one infant child) were injured.

The deceased are:

•  Daw Phyu Nu Ma (81 years old) from Thaing Chaung Village, Kyaukphyu Township

•  U Hmet Daung (56 years old) from Thaing Chaung Village

The injured are:

1.  Maung Aye Min Khine (9 months old), from Saing Chon Dwein Village

2.  Daw Khin San Win (34 years old), from Saing Chon Dwein Village

3.  Daw Ma Mya Yin (56 years old), from Thaing Chaung Village

4.  Daw Ba Nu (67 years old), from Zaing Chaung Village

5.  U Maung Kyaw (63 years old), from Zaing Chaung Village

Furthermore, the fascist terrorist military council attacked Mu Ywin Village again with two drones at approximately 4:40 PM on January 24, 2026. In addition, at around 5:20 PM, a jet fighter carried out airstrikes bombing Mu Ywin Village and Kon Baung Village (ကုန်ဘောင်ရွာ).

The fascist terrorist military council troops also carried out attacks on Kyauk Ka Lay Village in Kyaukphyu Township on January 18 and 19, 2026, not only with jet fighters and drones but also with heavy weapons fired from naval warships stationed in the sea. Due to such attacks, two innocent civilians were killed, two others were injured, and some civilian homes were burned and destroyed.

Moreover, on January 22, 2026, Kon Bway Village in Zin Chaung, Kyaukphyu Township, was attacked by one drone, resulting in two innocent civilians being injured.
