Clarification on the fake and fabricated piece of news issued by the office of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces with the headline of “the wounded villagers from Wekma village(Wa Ma Village) in Paletwa township reach Matupi town people’s hospital again” on the 17th March 2020. 18 March 2020

In a piece of announcement issued by the office of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces with the headline of “the wounded villagers from Meiksa(Mi Sa) East and Meiksa(Mi Sa) West villages from Paletwa township in the Chin State reach Matupi town people’s hospital again” on the 17th March 2020, the Myanmar Military falsely demanded that they returned fire of the Arakan Army as the AA surrounded their camp stationed near Paletwa town and used full force and opened heavy artillery fire.

In fact, there was no firing incidence anywhere nearby the area or attack that day from the Arakan Army.

Clearly their statement did not have an iota of truth, and rather the statement is a blatant lie and fabricated story of an imaginary armed confrontation. The fabricated story of armed confrontation was in reality aimed at hiding the war crimes the Myanmar defence forces have been carrying out in the area.

Our forces only attacked the strategic battalion of the Myanmar army at Meewa(Mi Wa), and we have never had any of our troops anywhere near Meiksawa(Mi Sa Wa) East and Meiksawa(Mi Sa Wa) West villages.

As on the map we have issued our ongoing confrontations are centred on the Meewa(Mi Wa) strategic battalion (on the west side) and have continued for more than forty days last. Armed conflict has been mostly continuing for a month and limited to the eastern hills of Mung Than Byin village(Mon Than Brin). There has been no conflict on the eastern side of the Meewa( Mi Wa) strategic battalion, especially (Mi Sa Wa) village.

The mention of Meiksawa(Mi Sa Wa) East and Meiksawa(Mi Sa Wa) West in the Myanmar army’s announcement are known as Meiksawa 1(Mi Sa Wa 1), Meiksawa 2(Mi Sa Wa 2) and Meisawa 3 (Mi Sa Wa 3)villages. The Myanmar Air Force bombed and strafed with machine guns all those villages at around 10 in the morning of 14th March, 2020. As a result twelve innocent villagers were killed and above fifteen were injured.

Besides that at 4 in the afternoon of 15th March aerial bombing raids on villages killed eight persons at Wekma village(Wa Ma ), a fifth standard student at Pyaing Din(Prin Ting) village, and twelve were seriously wounded.

On March 14 and 15, the targeted bombing and machine gun fire by the Myanmar air force killed Twenty one innocent villagers and injured thirty from the three Meisawa villages(Mi Sa Wa), Wek Ma village (Wa Ma) and Pyaing Din (Prin Ting)village.

Many houses in those villages were burnt down to ashes too. We extend our deepest sympathies to the families in the area who suffered such immeasurable loss.
