The situation and battle news in Arakan region on 12 and 13 July 2020 13 July 2020 The 233rd Light Infantry Battalion (LIB) under the command of the 15th Military Operations Command (MOC) of Myanmar Army based in Buthidaung and the Border Guard Police jointly attacked the Arakan Army in the massive offensive assaults near north-western part of Koe-Tan-Kauk village (beside Ah-Ngu-Maw to Maungdaw road) in Rathedaung township, Arakan and the clashes broke out in that area on 12 and 13 July 2020. At 5:17 pm on 22 June 2020, there was the clash in this area for an hour then it was the second time fighting 20 days later. The clashes began at 9:50 am on 12 July 2020, and lasted for more than half and an hour. The next day on 13 July 2020, the battle started at 8:47 am and sporadic fighting lasted until over 10 am including the clashes. On 12 and 13 July 2020, 15 Burmese soldiers were killed and military equipment and ammunition of LIB 233 were seized. Some of our Arrakha soldiers and heroes who bravely fought for their fatherland of Arakan and people by scarifying their lives in this battle are proudly and greatly recorded. In addition to heavy artilleries fired from the Border Guard Police Outpost and the military battalions based in Rathedaung of the Burmese soldiers, some innocent civilians were injured by the hit of shell of light and heavy weapons due to blindly firing with fear by Border Guard Police Outposts. The Myanmar Army has been brazenly committing war crimes by firing the light and heavy weapons into villages in the Arakan region. Furthermore, they have been lawlessly abducting and killing innocent civilians based on racial hatred. With the most heinous atrocity of war and inhumane acts they have been constantly conducting their clearance operations, which can be labeled as an ethnic cleansing campaign against innocent civilians in the Arakan region. The Arakan Army is going to retaliate and crack down on the Burmese troops and battalions that are deliberately committing war crimes, raping Arakanese women, and torturing local residents.
