No.34/2020 27 August 2020 Strong condemnation statement on the heinous shooting and murdering of the innocent civilians by racial extremist war criminal Myanmar Army It is the time in the whole world today people of all races and religions in every country are facing the Coronavirus Pandemic. The second wave of COVID-19 Pandemic has been becoming more widespread than before in Arakan amid there is no complete cure for the COVID-19. Within 11 days, with the exception of a few townships, over a hundred of the people have been infected with a record number of outbreaks. The people of Arakan have been subjected to the massive offensive assaults by the Myanmar Army with the four-cuts campaign for two years, the world’s longest internet telecommunications has been shut-down, food shortages for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), and it is also the time when the people are starting to experience the second wave of COVID-19. The Myanmar Army has brazenly been committing sabotage acts such as firing heavy and light weapons on day and night from the navy warships, artillery bases, their mobile battalions, and police stations against innocent peoples in Arakan who have been severely affected by the battles, starvation and COVID-19 Pandemic without any fighting, and then shooting and killing the innocent civilians on the streets with racial hatred, killing and looting the cattle. At about 10:30 in the morning on 26 August 2020, Maung Naing Win, 29-year-old, son of U Maung Kyaw Sein, was brutally killed and another one (Unidentified) is still missing in a small-arms attack by the racial extremist Myanmar Army nearby Ray-Su lake, Shan Rwa Ward in Kyauk-Taw Town. Similarly, at 10:15 am on 27 August 2020, there was an incident that the Myanmar Army stole three cows owned by the villagers after they threatened and fired with weapons in Kan-Htaung-Gyi village, Ponnagyun Township. At 9:40 am on 27 August 2020, the 205th Light Infantry Battalion (LIB) under the command of the 22nd Light Infantry Division of the war criminal Myanmar Army, which is fortified encampment at the police station in Apauk-Wa village, Kyauktaw Township deliberately terrorized and fired heavy and light weapons to the areas of the agricultural fields, the innocent civilians and the path ways. As a result, Daw Mae Kyi, 55-year-old, Daw Bu Ma, 40-year-old, Daw Ma Kyaut Sein, 36-year-old, and Daw Aye Thein Soe, 30-year-old were hit by the pieces of artillery shells, who were planting the paddy in the field nearby the Apauk-Wa railway station. Of the four, Daw Bu Ma was killed with the wound of artillery shells. We strongly condemn the shooting and killing of the innocent civilians by the war criminal Myanmar Army amid the combating and prevention and at the beginning of the second wave of COVID-19 Pandemic. We, the United League of Arakan/Arakan Army (ULA/AA), have already recorded such heinous acts of killing Arakan innocent peoples for various reasons by the troops and battalions of Myanmar Army and all the evidence will be conveyed to International Organizations.
