Press Release of the fourth term extension of the unilateral ceasefire by the Three Brotherhood Alliance

Our Three Brotherhood Alliance of the Kokang (MNTJP/MNDAA), the Ta’ang (PSLF/TNLA) and the Arakan (ULA/AA) have extended another twenty-five days long ceasefire from March 1, 2020 till March 25, 2020, with the aim to build a peaceful environment in the 2020 elections, to implement negotiations and peace-talks practically so that the Bilateral Ceasefire Agreement could be signed and the civil war could be ended, and to provide necessary assistance to the collective activities to overcome the current outbreak of Coronavirus.
Myanmar Army has not halted their land, navy and air operations against one of our Brotherhood Alliance members, the Arakan Army, but accelerated their total offensive assaults to exterminate civilians of Arakan. Similarly, as a result of the Myanmar Army’s continued military operations in the Kokang and the Ta’ang regions heavy fighting is recurring. To watch their offensive attacks, therefore, we have extended our unilateral ceasefire with a time constraint.
The Myanmar Army is urged to stop all of their one-sided offensive assaults against the revolutionary organizations of ethnic nationalities immediately and to sign a truce agreement with the revolutionary organizations of ethnic nationalities as soon as possible by showing political will to carry out negotiations and ceasefire declaration.
During the announcement of this unilateral ceasefire extension, should the Myanmar Army launch any offensive attack against any member of the Three Brotherhood Alliance, we will take decisive defensive actions hand in hand with the oppressed ethnic peoples.
