Statement on the heavy artillery shelling on the residential quarters and villages surrounding Mrauk U city by the Myanmar military and the resultant killing of innocent babies, children, pregnant women and the elderly

The Myanmar military has begun targeted artillery shelling on the residential quarters and villages surrounding Mrauk U city since the beginning of December 2019, which is tantamount to war crimes and hate crime. As a result, civilians were killed and some severely wounded in-
1. Sha Shay Byin village of Mruk U on December 1,2019,
2. Yan Aung Byin quarter, and Naleitt village on the northern part of Mrauk U at 12 noon of December 2,
3. Chin Byan village of Alay Zay Quarter of Mrauk U, at 4 pm on December 2,
At Chin Byan village of Alay Zay Quarter of Mrauk U, at 4 pm on December 2, 2019: A six-month-old baby girl, Ma Aye Thu Hlaing(aka) Mee Shay Bu and a 4-year-old boy, Maung Nyan Lin Htet were killed on the spot. The morther of Maung Nyan Lin Htet,Ma Nu Nu Win,sustained severe injury and died on arrival to the hospital. A total of seven persons including Ma Mi Mi Htay (25 years), a pregnant woman, sustained severe injuries.
Prior to the indictment of the Myanmar military in the international Court of Justice(ICJ) they have been conducting open genocide and war crimes upon the indigenous people of Myanmar including the Arakanese people. Such heart -rending civilian massacre by the Myanmar ultrannationalist military following their shameful loss in military operation will endure in the hearts of the people of Arakan.
We at ULA/AA are deeply saddened by the barbaric genocide committed by the Burmese Army(Myanmar Army) and pledge-bound to retaliate in kind.
