Statement on Investigation Committee for WHO car incident formed by Myanmar Presidential Office

This is our stance that we have no trust in the biased investigation committee for the WHO car incident formed by Myanmar Presidential Office under the 64/2020 ordinance on 28 April 2020 because it has deliberately excluded concerned, reliable and relevant persons but only comprised of the perpetrators from the government of Myanmar and its military.

As the previous countless committees under the auspices of the NLD regime, this committee was also formed with a politically motivated intention to cover up their crimes, to do procrastination and to blame their faults on other organization. It has become apparent that many investigation committees formed by the puppet democracy government and its military in Myanmar appear to be full of sham and hypocrisy, without seeking the truth. Therefore, “the Burmese cunning” will only be implemented in this investigation process as crooks and liars are judging their own crimes.

Superficially, it can be assumed that the committee was formed to seek the truth but it is safe to say that the truth will never come out in reality by those peoples in this biased committee. It is believed that the formation of “independent and impartial investigation commission” by unbiased, neutral and honest persons would only be capable to take concerted action to bring to justice those responsible for the killing of one WHO worker and harming another. The United League of Arakan/Arakan Army welcomes such credible commission and ready to cooperate with it.
